ACADEMY DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
06 Sep 2024
Dato'
Logistician Chang Kah Loon, FCILT, FLogM; Log. Ts.
Amy Ooi, FCILT, FLogM; and Log. Eunice Chang, CMILT, MLogM, recently met over coffee to discuss several key topics, including programme structure, lecturers, students, and activities.
Their shared goal was to strengthen AK Academy 勤 略 學 院 in Penang by enriching the academic environment and improving the overall learning experience for its students.
A concern was raised: many SPM, UEC, and STPM school leavers are choosing not to continue their studies, attracted by the gig economy's flexible jobs and freedom from the traditional 9-to-5 working hour. However, Dato' Chang stressed that the gig economy doesn't offer long-term stability, especially as people age.
Young people are therefore strongly encouraged to reconsider pursuing a certificate, diploma, or degree, which can provide a more secure and stable future.
Dato' Chang also highlighted the important role maritime logistics plays in global trade, making up over 90% of world commerce. As this sector grows, there is a rising need for more professional logisticians. Logistics education and training are key to meeting this demand.
To explore the most affordable and practical logistics education and training in Penang, please contact AK Academy 勤 略 學 院 (04-251 5222 or 251 5111).
