The recent tragic container overturning accident, which resulted in a fatality, has drawn significant attention. 光明日報 Guang Ming Daily reported the incident, and Astro AEC 新闻报报看 featured it in its live broadcast on 16 November 2024 (Friday) at 10:30 PM.
The coverage featured an interview with Dato' Logistician Chang Kah Loon 拿督曾家麟教授, FCILT, FLogM, President of The Society of Logisticians Malaysia (LogM) and Chairman of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) (Penang Section), who highlighted the critical concerns surrounding this alarming incident. He emphasised the interconnectedness of every component of the supply chain, whether related to import or export consignments, and the need for a thorough investigation. This includes examining the haulage and road transport processes, container handling practices, workplace SOPs, and potential human negligence.
