AK Shipping 勤 略 航 運 successfully handled the Japanese research vessel, RV. Umitaka Maru during her stay at the Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT), Penang, from 9 to 15 December 2024. This vessel, known for its role in scientific research and exploration, received comprehensive port services from AK Shipping 勤 略 航 運, ensuring smooth operations throughout its visit.

The handling process involved coordinating essential logistics, including berthing arrangements, crew support, and the facilitation of necessary supplies and equipment. We arranged a guided tour of Penang's rich cultural heritage, iconic landmarks, and local cuisine for the vessel's crew and researchers to support the Penang tourism industry. This initiative not only provided the crew with a memorable experience but also contributed to the promotion of local tourism.
