An Educational and Career Talk by Dato’ Dr, Chang Kah Loon, 26 April 2025
09 Apr 2025
Government representatives, businessmen, industry leaders, and professional logisticians have been discussing the revised US tariffs extensively these few days. The impact of the revised US tariffs is undoubtedly significant for some traders and manufacturers. Many business deals with the US may be on hold until there is further clarification. However, the US consumers may face a tougher challenge, as they are likely to purchase expensive items, particularly unless their local items are relatively low in price.
Can global logistics networks, systems, and applications play a role by introducing multimodalism rather than the usual intermodalism in seaborne trade? It may be beneficial to consult professional logisticians for further discussion.
Could becoming a professional logistician (物流师) be a future trend? Or it's worth considering pursuing tertiary education in logistics and becoming a professional logistician (物流师)?
